STUDIO POLICIES
Welcome to Studio Marvila! To ensure a smooth, inspiring, and safe experience for everyone in our community, we have established the following guidelines. By booking a workshop or using our website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
-
Confirmation: All workshop bookings are subject to availability and are confirmed only once payment has been fully completed.
-
Inclusions: Standard workshop fees cover the overall experience, including instruction and guidance, use of materials and tools, and dedicated studio time.
-
Additional Costs: For Open Studio sessions and Intensive Courses, an additional firing cost will be applied based on the final weight of your finished, fired pieces, calculated at €3.40 per kilo. If you require shipping for your finished pieces, this can be arranged at an extra cost.
-
Studio-Initiated Changes: We reserve the right to make changes to workshop dates, instructors, or content if necessary. In the unlikely event that a workshop is cancelled by Studio Marvila, participants will be offered a choice between a reschedule or a full refund.
-
-
General Refund Policy: Workshop fees are strictly non-refundable unless stated otherwise.
-
Cancellation & Rescheduling Window: We require a minimum of 48 hours notice before the scheduled start time for any cancellations or rescheduling requests. Each booking may be rescheduled once only. Once a reschedule has been used, no further changes can be made.
-
Late Notice Changes: Rescheduling or cancellation requests made less than 48 hours (2 days) before the workshop start time cannot be accommodated.
-
No-Shows: If you do not attend your workshop, the session is forfeited and cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
-
Late Arrivals: Please arrive on time. Workshops begin with important explanations and demonstrations. If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, you will not be able to join the session, as late arrivals disrupt the experience for other participants. No refunds will be provided for late arrivals.
-
-
Safety First: Participants must follow all studio safety instructions at all times.
-
Code of Conduct: We reserve the right to remove anyone behaving in a disruptive or unsafe manner without a refund.
-
Open Studio Usage: "Open Studio" passes are strictly for experienced potters only. It provides a space to independently pursue ceramic projects using studio clay, glazes, tools, and the kiln. While instructors are available for necessary orientation, Open Studio is not structured as a formal instructional class.
-
-
The Firing Process: The glazing and finishing process takes time — usually about 3 to 4 weeks. Participants will be notified via email when their pieces are ready for collection.
-
Collection Limits: Finished pieces must be collected within 3 months of receiving your notification. After this period, we are unfortunately unable to store pieces due to space limitations, and uncollected items may be discarded.
-
Abandoned Work: Any pieces left beyond the 3-month collection window are considered abandoned.
-
-
The Nature of Ceramics: Ceramics is a highly unpredictable learning and creative process. Finished pieces are not guaranteed. Any items you successfully take home are considered a bonus, not an entitlement.
-
Breakage Risk: Pieces may crack, warp, break, or explode during the drying or firing process. By participating, you acknowledge and accept this inherent risk.
-
Liability: Studio Marvila cannot be held responsible for damage that occurs during throwing, firing, glazing, or drying. No refunds or replacements will be offered for damaged pieces.
